- Kelly O’Donnell has been appointed as chief people and transformation officer at Choreo. In the newly created position, she will oversee Choreo’s Human Resources, Brand & Communications and the Integration Management Office. O’Donnell will report to CEO Jason Van de Loo. Before joining Choreo, O’Donnell most recently served as the president of Workplace, where she led the distribution, marketing and strategy functions supporting Edelman Financial Engines’ workplace business.
- Adam Ludwiczak has been named head of European Investment Banking at Marathon Capital, an advisory firm. Ludwiczak will lead the firm’s European investment banking. Ludwiczak initially joined Marathon Capital in 2022 as a managing director.
- NewEdge Wealth has added an eight-person team near Minneapolis in Minnesota. The Wayzata-MN based team provides wealth management services and includes managing director James Shafer and principal Michael Block. Joseph Gossett, Pamela Smith and Rachelle Carlson-Oien have joined NewEdge Wealth as VPs and Morgan Cisneros, Nick Rizzo and Carson Shultis have joined as support staffers. The team previously managed over $1.25B in client assets, and the location is the 22nd for NewEdge Wealth.
- Tina Decker has been tapped as SVP of Business Development at RIA BridgePort Financial Solutions. Decker will lead M&A strategy and execution to accelerate the firm’s growth. Additionally, she will source financial modeling through due diligence and negotiation, while working closely with the executive team to shape corporate strategy and client onboarding. Decker will report to BridgePort’s managing director Clara Sierra. Before joining BridgePort, Decker spent more than two decades at Osaic Wealth, where she most recently served as VP of M&A and Succession Planning.
- Philip Nolan has been appointed as managing director and head of U.S. Wealth of Warburg Pincus. Nolan will lead the firm’s efforts to deepen existing investor relationships and establish new partnerships across the U.S. wealth market. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he most recently served as managing director and head of National Accounts at Neuberger Berman.
- Matt Shafer has been named managing director and head of Golub Capital’s GP-led private equity secondaries strategy, Golub Equity Continuation Partners. Shafer will be responsible for leading the firm’s development of the strategy and helping expand its equity investment capabilities. He will work closely with vice chair and co-Head of Golub Capital’s Sponsor Finance unit, Greg Cashman, to expand Golub Capital’s activity in this growing market. Prior to joining Golub Capital, Shafer most recently served as head of Capital Solutions and U.S. Private Equity at Northleaf Capital Partners.
- Jason O’Briant has joined Vision Ridge Partners, a sustainable real assets investor, as head of Portfolio Talent. In the newly created role, he will build and lead the talent function to Vision Ridge’s portfolio companies. Additionally, he will partner with the investment team as well as with portfolio company boards and management teams on senior leadership assessment, hiring, and succession, and on organizational design. O’Briant will work closely with managing director and head of Asset Management PJ Jannuzzi. Prior to joining Vision Ridge, O’Briant most recently founded O’Briant Advisory, LLC, an independent advisory firm.
- Joel Tomlinson has been named managing partner of LNL Capital, a net lease capital platform. Tomlinson will be responsible for expanding the firm’s structured debt and equity strategy within the single-tenant retail, industrial, and healthcare net lease space. Prior to joining LNL Capital, Tomlinson most recently served as managing director and was a founding member of the net lease strategy at Ares Management.
- Scott Cohen and Robert “Bobby” Abendroth have joined Boston-based Winthrop Wealth as wealth advisors. Prior to joining Winthrop Wealth, Cohen and Abendroth both were financial advisors at Eagle Strategies.
- Victoria Davies has joined Sound Point Capital Management as managing director and head of Europe for the Global Client Solutions team. Davies will oversee Sound Point’s marketing and client services efforts in the U.K. and Europe, as the Global Client Solutions team continues to broaden institutional investor relationships across the region. Davies will report to head of Global Client Solutions Tory Gossage. Before joining Sound Point, Davies most recently served as director of Fundraising at King Street, an investment management firm.
- Bill Presutti has been tapped as head of U.S. sales at Privacore Capital, an affiliate of Janus Henderson. Presutti will be responsible for expanding access to Privacore’s alternative investment products. Prior to joining Privacore Capital, Presutti most recently served as managing director and head of business development at alternative asset manager Future Standard.
- William Sonneborn has been appointed COO and president of Hunter Point Capital, an investment firm. Sonneborn will work closely with HPC’s senior leadership team to advance the firm’s strategic and operational priorities. Prior to joining Hunter Point Capital, Sonneborn served as president of Generate Capital, an investment and technology firm.
- New York-based Global X Management has launched a new fund aimed at investing in multi-layer ceramic capacitors. The fund also seeks to provide investors with targeted exposure to the technology supply chain, and the fund expects to invest at least 80% of its assets in MLCCs and electronic components companies.
- AdvisorCRM has launched AdvisorCRM Studio, an app-building platform that allows advisory firms to create customized tools, reports, and workflows. AdvisorCRM Studio is designed for firms to build custom technology from scratch and helps advisors with tools and duplicate client records.
- Great Gray Trust Company, a retirement solutions provider, has partnered with iCapital for private markets management, due diligence, and portfolio construction. Through the partnership, Great Gray and iCapital aim to develop private markets solutions for defined contribution plans, to help plan sponsors and advisors expand diversification opportunities within professionally managed retirement solutions. Additionally, Great Gray and iCapital will work together to develop a suite of asset-class-specific CITs across private equity, private credit, and private real assets.
- Vanilla, an estate planning solutions provider, has launched VAI, its AI-powered platform, which aims to dispatch AI agents to help advisors with various tasks, including onboarding clients, building client profiles alongside the advisor, and flagging estate planning opportunities. Vanilla has plans to roll out additional AI agents.
- The TCW Group, an investment firm, has converted its TCW MetWest Sustainable Securitized Fund into the TCW Securitized Income ETF. The ETF is designed as a broad securitized income solution, enabling the portfolio management team to pursue opportunities across various sectors.
- Financial planning software provider Conquest Planning has rolled out a new offering that enables advisors and RIAs to gain access to Conquest’s platform, which includes its proprietary planning engine, Strategic Advice Manager. The offering, which is designed for firms with 10 advisors or fewer, allows advisors to purchase a subscription through Conquest’s website. The product has already been rolled out across platforms, including Morningstar, Schwab Advisor Services, Robinhood’s TradePMR, Zocks and Jump.
- WealthStream, a wealth tech platform, has added OpenAI’s GPT-Live-1 to its offering, Practice, which is designed to help financial advisors prepare for client engagement. Practice enables advisors on WealthStream’s platform to help them practice how they communicate advice, respond to questions, and navigate various financial discussions with clients.
- Savant Tax & Consulting, a wholly owned subsidiary of Savant Wealth Management, has rebranded to Savant Accounting & Business Advisory. The unit provides integrated tax-related services for businesses, business owners, individuals, and families.
- GTIS Partners said has rebranded as Brightshore Capital, following the 21-year-old real estate investment firm’s transition to 100% ownership by its partners. The firm also launched its Brightshore Credit, a real estate debt investment platform, anchored with a $250M investment that will focus on origination and investment in high-yield credit including stretch senior and mezzanine financings, preferred equity and B-notes.
- Registered investment adviser Hercules Adviser, a division of Hercules Capital, a growth capital firm, has surpassed $2.3B in investable capital. Recently, Hercules Capital closed two private credit vehicles, Hercules Evergreen Fund and Hercules Growth Lending IV, and a rated securitization. Both vehicles will leverage Hercules Capital’s scale and framework to support high-quality, companies across the technology and life sciences sectors.
- Yuma, an infrastructure and investment firm, raised over $200M in TAO and subnet tokens across its validator, asset management, and accelerator businesses. This comes after Yuma Asset Management launched its third investment vehicle, the Yuma Total Market Fund. The fund provides institutional and accredited investors with a single strategy with exposure to TAO, the native token of the Bittensor network.
- Boston-based Volition Capital, a growth equity investment firm, has raised $950M in the closing round for its Volition Capital Fund VI. The capital will continue its strategy of investing in founder-owned technology companies. The oversubscribed fund marks the largest fund raised by Volition to date, bringing its total assets under management to over $2.6B.
- Artemis Capital Partners, a private equity firm, has raised $254M in the closing round for its Artemis Capital Partners IV. The fund, which closed on September 1, will continue supporting Artemis’ strategy of buying and building Industrial Tech platforms across aerospace, defense, life science, and semiconductor end markets.
